3.25.13 Eve of Galway Downs!

Here we are, March 25th,(otherwise known as Cindy Marvin’s birthday) and we are preparing for the big event at Galway Downs. This is the first FEI event of the year on the west coast and a good precursor to how the JARBA Farms horses and riders have progressed this Winter. The activity level around Galway has picked up and by Wednesday it will be full of trucks, trailers & horses.

We were very happy with the results from Copper Meadows two weeks ago. We congratulated Lucy Beard on completing her first intermediate event ever while riding the one and only My Sedona. A milestone for Lucy that we are sure will be bettered this week at Galway. Jude & Bingo rebounded from winning the pink dressage t shirt on Friday to moving up the board with 2 double clean rounds in the XC & SJ phases to also winning the Double – Double t shirt. Maddie finished 2nd & 4th on her horses, Gibson & Tagg Oakley, Cindy Marvin had a smile on her face as Renegade Storm continues his transition from racing to eventing in a short period. Haley Patno & Tina had great showing in Jr Training for their first showing of the year. Carol rode Mira to a very good finish in Sr Training & Vivi showed that she has what it takes in Dressage & SJ but showed her youth in XC. Jil was able to compete on Theo for the first time and liked what he showed. All in all a great weekend of competition.

For Galway we await our fellow Montanan’s, Fran & Paula Sweeney, Cathy Rasch, Jen Johnson, & Bryn Michaels arrival tonight. We have a full barn and are looking forward to hearing what we have missed in the Flathead Valley while staying here in Temecula. This should be a fun week & we look forward to the stories that will be told next week.
